Relaxation and Renewment

This past weekend I made my way back up to Tennessee to visit some of my favorite people in the whole world.  Just like my last visit, this one could not have come at a more perfect time.  I was needing some girl time and time with people who really get me.  Not having to explain myself and knowing I was loved the whole time is exactly what I was needing.
On Thursday morning as I flew over the mountains I was in awe of the beauty below me.  I have never flown up there during the fall when the leaves are changing.  I could not stop myself from looking out the window during the last part of my flight.
I was so lucky to have the amazing Danielle pick me up from the airport.  This girl is truly amazing I was so happy to have been able to catch up on her life and learn about where she is at.  Her light shines so bright and I love that I get to call her friend:)
I spent the rest of Thursday camped out on my favorite couch at Lauren and Jacob's doing homework till Lauren came home from work.  I am so thankful to have such great friends who make me feel so at home at their place!
Friday Ashlee picked me up bright and early for an awesome morning.  She went to go get her haircut, and I don't know what she would have done if I was not there!  We have so much fun together and I loved that everyone knew we were truly best friends.
We then met up for lunch with Lauren and Lauren.  Lauren took her lunch break and the other Lauren came so that she could steal me and spend time together.  I love it when people can meet over food and have so much fun!
Friday night Lauren dragged me out for a run.  I didn't know how well I would do since I had not been running a lot lately or very far.  It was so gorgeous out and I was SO proud of my run!  I got in 2 miles with some pretty huge hills involved! That is the furthers I have gone in a while!
Saturday morning while I layer around the apartment, Lauren ran some more.  Afterwards we went to lunch where Danielle serves and off to a soccer game to support Lauren! We missed the last part of the game/the only part Lauren played in.  I felt beyond HORRIBLE for missing it!
We spent the rest of the day as lazy bums.  We legit read for almost 6 hours straight.  And both Lauren and I were beyond happy doing so.  Yup we are lame!
Throughout the weekend I was able to relax and be renewed.  The Truth was constantly spoken to me which was something I had been missing a lot lately!  I am thankful for friends who will always point me back to God.  I really needed that this weekend!
I am so thankful to have had such an awesome trip!  I cannot wait to go back.  Unfortunately that may not be for some time:(

Pumpkins Pumpkins Pumpkins!!

A couple of weeks ago I posted on Facebook that I really wanted to carve pumpkins this year! I have not carved a pumpkin in years and thought it would be so much fun to do with some good friends.  After the post two things happen:
1. Our family friend, Sonny, offered to bring me some pumpkins.  Big ones at that!
2. Two friends offered to come over and carve with me!
After a little while we found a time to get together.  Only Brittany showed up, which meant more food and fun for the both of us!  Seriously love Brit and all the fun we have together.  Who would have thought last summer we would have been such good friends!?

Per usual we talked about anything and everything on our minds and laughed the whole time.  We made lots of messes and yummy pumpkin seeds.  I could not have asked for a better night with a great friend!  It was the perfect start to a crazy week of finals! And now I have my first Fall decoration my porch.

I Miss fall

I know your wondering "How can one miss fall when they are in the middle of the fall?"  Well you can...when you live in Florida! Florida doesn't have seasons, it has hot, SUPER hot, and chilly.  BORING!

For the last four years I have spent fall in the beautiful state of Tennessee.  A place where you get to experience all four seasons.  In fall the leaves change, you start wearing boots and scarves, cardigans are a must, and being outside at all times if glorious.

I LOVE fall.  Not too hot, not too cold, and a whole new wardrobe comes into play.  Fall colors are warm and welcoming.  Pumpkin everything comes out.  And everything screams comfort!

In two weeks I will find myself in fall.  I will get to wear my boots.  I will drink warm drinks sitting outside in the cool air.  I will bring out my other clothes.  And I will be the happiest camper ever:)

Thanksgiving Break

To say that I was excited and ready for Thanksgiving break is a MAJOR understatement.  I was ready to not have to focus on school and instead relax and enjoy my family!

Wednesday morning at 7 am I hopped on my first flight to heading home.  One more flight later and by 11:15 I was finally in nice warm Florida! PS seriously proud of myself for not overpacking for this trip!

I think I mentioned that I could not wait to get back and work out with Sherry.  I was so ready for it, but she really did kick my butt....I couldn't walk for the next three days after!

Thanksgiving was a wonderful day.  Mamerz made us all waffles for breakfast.  I was one happy camper.

After a yummy lunch we all vegged out and had some fun hanging around the fire pit that night (as well as every other night.)  Seriously best thing ever getting that fire pit!

The rest of the weekend was spent decorating the house for Christmas and relaxing.  Christmas decorations are my favorite.  Especially the columns in our house.  Most favorite ever!

On Monday I headed back to Tennessee very unwillingly.  Break was so not long enough and I did not want to leave Florida.  Oh and I had a crazy day In the airport.  I knew I was only going to have about 45 minutes between my two flights.  Well I really ended up only having about 25 minutes.  And of course the gate I landed at and the gate I was heading out of were literally across the airport from each other.  I had to run through the whole airport in order to make my flight.  So not fun!

So now that I am back at school for the next 2 and a half weeks, I am counting down the days until I get to go home for a long time! I cannot wait to really not have to think about school!

Positivity

It was brought to my attention recently by one of the besties that lately I may not have been the most positive person to be around.  TRUTH.

I was complaining about EVERYTHING.  Class, people, my job. You name it I complained about it.  Not a good thing.

Now I could sit here and tell yall that I was super stressed out (truth) but that's just an excuse.

There is always a bright side to things.  And I wish that I could always see this bright side.

I knew that I needed to move past this negativity and onto some positivity.  My first step in getting there was Fall Break.  As you all know it was a much needed trip.

I was so happy and content to just be sitting on the couch doing nothing and not having to care about what homework assignment I had to do next.  Key note here is I was FINALLY happy again.  I hadn't been for two weeks because I had way too much going on.

On my drive back to Milligan I started thinking about things.

It's no secret that I do not handle stress very well.  I never have and so I am having to learn how to eliminate it from my life as much as one can.

After much consideration I dropped one of my classes.  It was an elective that I did not have to have and because my grade in there was not good (major stressor) and I could not foresee a way to bring it back up to what I consider acceptable, I dropped the class.

You have no idea how great it felt to turn that form in! I was praising Jesus all the way back to work since a good majority of my stress was gone!

While I am still have to remind myself sometimes to be more positive, my attitude has greatly improved.  I am so thankful this was brought to my attention and that I am able to work on it!

Fall Break/ Weekend Recap

Wait Fall Break is over? Why did it have to go by so quickly?!  I left last Wednesday, got back yesterday and today I am wishing I was still in Macon.

Prior to leaving for Macon I was a big ball of stress.  I had so many tests and so much to do that I was going insane.  Seriously, thank you God for Fall Break! I really needed it.

After driving a little over 6 hours, I arrived in Macon to see these two faces!

Oh and Briana and Raleigh!  I was so happy to be there! Mattie made us dinner and we just hung out that night and had the dogs for entertainment.  There is a deck on the rook of the apartment building and we headed up there for some fresh air!  You can see all of Macon there!

Thursday Mattie had some classes to go to so I got my sleep on.  It was nice to finally be able to really sleep in.  Though I have to say my sleeping arrangements were a little interesting...That air mattress actually wasn't all that bad...until Raleigh decided to claim it as her bed.

I also knew I had to get some work done on Thursday.  I opened my GRE book and got working.  I was pretty proud of myself when I was able to complete all but the practice tests finally!

That night we went out for dinner.  I loved being able to walk to dinner and take the pups with us.  No worries Boone walked Raleigh all the way home!

Friday Mattie had class while Briana and I slept in.  Then it was shopping time! Not much happened...but Mamerz may be in some luck...

Friday night Briana cooked dinner for us.  I was MAJORLY impressed and felt like I had eaten a really good home meal! I in turn made dessert for us all.  Well I tried to at least...

See the recipe was not a good one.  It was vague and I fell prey to it's stupidness.  What was suppose to be layers of brownie, whip cream and pudding turned into brownie soup which turned into frozen brownie soup.  At least it tasted good?

Saturday was one of the most relaxing days we had.  We laid in bed (after much begging from Mattie and Briana) and watched tv and played with the dogs.  Then we decided to take the pups to a field to play some ball!

Boone throughly enjoyed sitting on Briana's lap in order to stick his head out the window.

The pups had to have their water!  This was also after Boone decided to get in the creek and Briana had to go in after him!

Me and my new best friend Raleigh! It's actually a miracle you can actually see her in this picture.

We tend to do some stupid things to Boone.  He enjoys it though.  Headbands are his favorite too!

It was nice to just hang out and not have much to do.  It was a much needed break that I am so grateful to have had.  I needed to take some time and relax and unstress.

But now I am back at Milli and trying to focus on doing work this week!

Hope yall had an awesome weekend too!

Yesterday Was Not My Day

I had a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.  It was just awful and I did not like it one bit!

Want to know why it was so bad? Well here let me list your everything bad that happened in order of occurrence.

I hit snooze one too many times before waking up.  I really needed to get up and study some more and that did not happen.
It was FREEZING cold and and rainy all day.  This meant I had to breakout the Northface.

I had a presentation that I was all scatterbrained for.
I failed my test.  Failed as in I got a C.  I don't get C's.
I managed to say many wrong things to people.
My tire pressure light went off in my car.  This light is my worst enemy. It goes off ALL the time!

I still have two more tests to study for and I have no motivation at all.

Now I don't want you all to think I am the biggest Debbie Downer or Negative Nancy, some good things did occur.  And overall these made the ending to my day much better.

I went to Panera to study and get some good comfort food.  Totally worth it.

My chevron rings came in the mail!

And I got a much needed and much deserved Pumpkin Spice Latte.

Hopefully tomorrow will be much better.  And only one more day till I get to see this face

Yup that's my nephew and surprisingly I cannot wait to see him! Oh I get to see this face as well...

The sister aka Boone's mom aka Mattie.  You could say I am VERY ready to head to Macon.  And that would be an understatement!

So here is to me praying for a better day and a faster one so that it will finally be FALL BREAK!
