Vineyard Camp: Session A

This past week has been my first week of my 11th year here at Camp Vineyard! And boy has it been a good one!!  The friends are good, the jobs are hard, and fun is being had by all! I am so excited to be updating you all on what has been going on this week!

First and most importantly, I got promoted to Girls Camp Director (GCD)!!!! As a camper this was always the job I always looked up to and never thought I would get to. But this summer is going to be my chance to prove to all what a good job I can do in leading these young girls.  I look forward to being able to share parts of myself with all of them, and helping them come to Christ.  It will be hard work, but it is something I have been praying about and feel I am headed in the right direction.  All prayers for this job will be greatly appreciated!

Session A is always staff orientation week here at camp.  This is a time when we all get trained on our jobs and the camp, and spend some time getting to know one another.  It forms a great community among the staff and lets us relax a little bit before we receive our first campers.  We are also doing many projects in order to get the camp looking as best as possible!  As I have gotten to know all of my female staff I have come to love each of them!  They are such amazing ladies who love the Lord.  I really am looking forward to spending time with them, seeing them grow here at camp, and creating life long friendships with them!

Speaking of friends, there have been many old faces that I have been able to see this year and many new.    The first day I arrived I was greeted by many friends I had not seen in a year and it was so nice to be able to catch up with them.  I love the people I meet here and love being able to see them year after year!!  I have also met several new people who seem like they are going to be pretty awesome! I seriously cannot say enough how much I love this staff and how much I am looking forward to being able to work with them and be friends with them!

As many of you know this camp means a lot to me and I am so grateful that I get the chance to come back each year.  I love it and feel at home here.  The Lord is very present in this place and I am getting to see him working on a daily basis.  That being said, prayers for this camp, and this summer are always needed.  Please pray that there is safety here for any campers who come through our gates, and that each staff here can be the best they can be!

Love from the GCD in her office :)))
