My Biggest Fear

Are you in need of a good laugh?  Then it is a good thing you stopped by here.  For Day 7 of Blogging Everyday in May we are suppose to talk about our biggest fear(s).  Well mine is kind of a bit funny...
One of the things I am most terrified of? Dolphins.  And not this is not a joke.  They are creepy and big and if they can kill a shark then why would they not kill me?!  And they do not all smile like the one in the picture below.

OK so there is a good story behind this one.  If I want to get all psychology on you I could say that I have been classically conditioned to be scared of dolphins.  But let me just tell you what happened on that day about 6 years ago...
So I live in Florida and we go to the beach all the time.  My sister, her boyfriend at the time, my brother, and I were all out on the boat and jet ski when we see a group of dolphins swimming around near shore.  And of course we think "wouldn't it be so cool to swim with them?!" 
My sister's boyfriend jumps off the back of the jet ski to swim with them while my sister comes and picks me up off of the boat to join him.  As we are cruising back to him slowly, I look down and out of no where this dolphin head pops up right next to me (he had a body too but all I saw was his head).  As in I was probably less than a foot away from him.
Have you every seen a real dolphin person? Well they are scary and not cute like the movies.  Of course I scream and everyone laughs at me.  My sister tried to get me off the jet ski but there was no way that was ever going to happen.  So I got back on the boat.
Needless to say I never go near dolphins anymore.  And when we are out tubing my siblings no longer yell "shark" to scare me.  Instead "dolphin" comes out and I cry.

What Do I Do?

Happy Monday friends! I know your day is going to be much better than mine since I am taking 2 final exams today.  At least these are my last two final exams and then all that stands between me and summer is walking across that stage!

So the topic for Day 6 of Blogging Everyday in May is to tell everyone what we do without using our job title.  Fortunately for me I don't have a job so that won't be too hard!  The only real official title I have is "student" and even with graduation that doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon!

Ok now to answer the question "what do I do?"  

I learn everyday.  Not just in the classroom but everywhere.  I love the idea that we are all forever learners and will never know absolutely everything about everything.

I hang out with kids a lot.  In case you haven't caught on by now, I love kids and I love being around them.  Which is why I tend to always take a job working with them.

I will be going onto Grad School in the fall.  I'm going to be learning all kinds of things about counseling and how to help others.  So beyond excited for this!

I love people.  I actively try to show my love to others. Whether it is through spending time with them or doing something for them.  I just love the love that people can share.

And last but not least, I share my life with others.  AKA I blog.  I know I am a nosy person, as are most people, and always want to know what is going on in other people's lives.  So I figured why not share mine with the world.  And I have loved every minute of it!

Day 5 of Blogging Everyday in May and I am still here! And I just love today's topic!  We are to profess our love for a blogging friend!
It took me no time at all to come up with who I want to show some love to!  Amy over at Sweet Home Santa Barbara is so beyond amazing it is incredible!

I really don't remember how we met, but man am I glad we did! This girl has the biggest heart for the Lord and has just been an awesome influence on me in this way!
Amy it is so outward with her faith and I just love that about her.  She gives thanks to the Lord for everything and goes out of her way to be a witness for Him.  She has inspired me to do the same!  She also happens to be one of the sweetest people around!

All I ever desire in my life is simplicity. Hence the name of this blog. I strive to make things simple, I love it when things are simple, and simplicity really is happiness to me.

I think I strive for this so much because I tend to make things in life so much more difficult then they ever should be. So anytime I find simple little things my heart fills with joy:)

I'm Uncomfortable

Day 3 of Blogging Everyday in May is here! And our topic today is to write about things that make us uncomfortable. This one I had to think a lot about which is weird because I am typically uncomfortable 80% of the time!

Number 1 thing to make me uncomfortable: Going new places by myself
I hate this with a passion. I have gotten better over the years, but being in new places all by my lonesome will make me more uncomfortable than anything in the world.

Number 2: Presentations
I hate standing up in front of a group of people with all of their eyes staring at me while I pretend to know what I am doing. At least for my group dance presentation yesterday I looked cute...

Number 3: People following me in a parking lot
Have you ever walked out of a store and the person behind you keeps following you? And you think they are going to attack you when you get to the car? No just me? Yeah totally creeps me out!

Number 4: Repeating my name 5 times
See Mosby isn't exactly the most common name ever. So typically when I meet someone new for the first time I have to repeat my name. Instead of Mosby they somehow hear Macy, Mosby(with the short o instead of long o), Mooseby, and several others. I hate having to repeat my name until they get it right!

I'm a Smart Cookie

After deciding to join in on the "Blog Everyday In May" link-up I am already feeling inspired and happy about blogging...and it is only day 2.  Apparently it does not take a lot to make this girl happy...
So I am suppose to educate you all on something I know.  And while I could go many different routes with this one...I think I am going to get all sweet on this one.
How To Love The Obnoxious Child
Bad title? Just go with me on this one.  So if you have ever been around any groups of kids for any length of time you come to find that there is at least one obnoxious child in each group.  And that child...is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!
Maybe it is because I was that child growing up, but there is something about the obnoxious child that I just love.  And usually they are the ones who need the love the most.  See there are reasons they are obnoxious and crave attention.
Typically they do not have the best home life or by the time I get to the kid the teachers have already given up on them.  So I love on them.
It's really quite a simple process.Step 1: Talk to the kidStep 2: Take interest and what they are saying and what they like to doStep 3: Repeat steps 1&2 every time you see the kid
Honestly just this simple gesture of listening and taking interest in a kid will make them feel more loved than anything.  If you think about it, we all work that way.  And sometimes you simply taking your time to do this will change that obnoxious child into one of the best.
So if you work with kids or are ever around them, find the one others seem to steer clear of and show them a little lovin!

Lez-Be-Honest

For one the title of this post is my favorite quote right now.  Pretty sure I say approximately 23926498456 times a day.  Not a lie.  But really, it's time to get a little honest up in here. I have had a lacking interest in blogging.  I find it hard to get motivated to write and to come up with something to write.  I feel like as a "good blogger" I should write every day.  But LEZ-BE-HONEST I'm really not all that interesting or have that much to share. So I decided I needed to fix this.  And then today I saw several people linking up for this "Blogging Everyday In May" thing with Jenni.  I guess this was my sign to get me back to blogging. This isn't going to be easy.  Especially since I have final exams, graduation, and 2 vacations this month.  But I am going to try to make it happen. So let's begin with today's topic: Story of my life in 250 words or less.

The little cutie on the far right is me. I was born Mary Mosby Hardin on April 26, 1991 at 1:55 p.m. in Lakeland, Fl.   I had one big sister and little did I know two little brothers coming later in life.  My sister was ready to give me back upon first sight.

I spent all my growing years in Lakeland.  Weekends at the beach have always been my favorite always will be.  

When I was 11 I spent my first week at The Vineyard Camp, the first of 11 years to come.  I grew up at the Vineyard.  Made the best of friends there and grew the strongest in my faith while there.

Then I grew up some more and went to college 12 hours away from home.  BEST DECISION EVER MADE.  After 4 years here I am a week and a half away from graduating.

Next step is to move home, go to grad school, and see where the Lord takes me!
