Weekend Recap

This weekend was a much needed weekend. Sometimes I get so annoyed doing the same thing all the time. Monotony is not my friend. And lately I have been stuck in a cycle and I wanted out.

So early Friday morning I drove the five hours to grandmas house!  Thanks to Lauren I jammed out to T-Swift the whole way there...and back:) Mom forgot to tell people I was coming so it was a bit of a surprise to everyone. I got there right after lunch and was so happy to be there.

We just hung out all afternoon talking and catching up on everything that has been going on. It was so nice to be relaxed and not have to worry about a thing!

Saturday I woke up and needed to run. I tried to convince mom to go with me but she refused. This was my first solo run and I also had a large goal. I wanted to run 2 miles!  And I did!! I was so proud of myself. I had so much going against me but I did it. I was in a new place, by myself, and had had a terrible run on Thursday. I told myself I had to do it and I did!

After my early morning run mom and I hung out with the family. I got to see most of the cousins and their kids too.  We then went on a hike on some of Grandma's property.  It was such a pretty day and the property there is gorgeous.  It was nice to spend most of the day outside:)

Sunday morning was nice and leisurely as well.  We woke up and got ready to head to church.  We were having a big Sunday lunch with all the family afterwards.  I love those times so much and I love being able to catch up with everyone.

I did learn something this weekend that is very important.  Wallenfelsz women are strong, loud, and get things done.  Men don't even try to get in our way.  It's so funny how different we can all be, but still have a lot of the same qualities!

Oh how I needed that weekend. Part of me is really sad to be back, but I know Spring Break is coming in 2 weeks so I think I can make it!
