Practicum Update

If you remember a couple weeks ago I wrote about my first week in my practicum.  In between now and then some sickness happened, school days canceled, and lots of business.  This adding up to me not sharing anything else about it with you.  But no worries today is the day!

I am absolutely LOVING my placement.  I could not have asked for a better mentor teacher or a better group of students.  You would think me saying this would somehow translate to me wanting to become a teacher.  It does not.  I have NO desire to do that.  I love knowing I only have to see these lovely kidlits twice a week and that I am not solely responsible for planning and executing their education.  Just couldn't do it I tell ya!

But I do love the time I am with them.  Which reaffirms my love for children and desire to do something in my career with them.  So want to know what we have been up to? Good I'm glad you asked:)

I have been getting more and more involved with the class each day.  I now do the Daily Language with them and sometimes even go over some worksheets.  And yesterday was my BIG day.  I taught, for the first time ever, my first lesson...3 times.

I was being evaluated my third time and I did awesome! I love those kids for making me shine:)  They were so excited to have me teach, which always warms my little heart.  They asked all the right questions, volunteered at all the right times, and even made me look dumb a couple times.  Gotta love those fourth graders!

While this may not be the field I am going into, I am happy to be where I am.  My kidlits put the biggest smile on my face each time I see them.  I even got told that I was very pretty yesterday by a sweet little girl.  Oh and I was told I am the #1 Miss Hardin to them (apparently they have another one who comes but they like me the best!).

So here is to looking forward to the rest of my time with these little lovelies! Also I am in need of new ways to say "great job".  Apparently I use that way too much....
